British Studios
British is Best

It has often been said that British movie technicians are the best in the world; you only have to look at the accomplishments to realize that there is truth behind this statement, Bond movies, Batman and Robin were all filmed at Pinewood Studios, and Star Wars was filmed at Elstree Studios. There are many other popular and big budget movies that have been filmed at British Film Studios.
Did You Know?
Steven Spielberg used a converted aerospace factory in Hatfield to film his HBO special Band of Brothers. There is also the very notable Harry Potter series mainly the first Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone (Sorcerers Stone for US audiences) this was filmed in a converted ex-Rolls Royce factory made into a studio. It is interesting to note that British Studios today have lost some of there Britishness, and by that I mean that it’s no longer just a British institute, the days of mass movie production that was seen in the golden years has long gone, today’s success is admittedly in a large part due to the intertwining of US budgets and productions.
The British Reputation
Years ago you could probably name a studio and a certain type of movie would spring to your mind, Gainsborough Studios were known for costume dramas, Ealing for strong comedy characters projecting British humor and Bray Studios was known for the production of the Hammer Horror movies. British studios have had their ups and downs but the sad truth is that today due the massive finances and different aspects of producing a movie that the days of British studios churning enough movies out per year to sustain themselves has long gone and only a few have survived even though there have been many attempts in recent years to pump some life into them. Luckily for the British movie studio England is still able to tempt foreign movies due to the fact that British studio technicians have a stellar reputation.
